News Desk: EC Secretary Md. Jahangir said, the Planning Commission has decided not to process the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) project for the time being considering the financial capacity of the government in the global context and detailed examination.
On Monday (January 23) in the afternoon at Agargaon Election Commission Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam told reporters this information. He said, the Planning Commission has informed us that it is not processing the project at the moment. But not canceled.
The secretary said, the commission has already said that if the new project is not passed, we will vote in as many seats as possible with the machines we have. It could be 50, it could be 60, it could be 70. We will check and see. If there is financial capability then it will happen in the future, he said.
