News Desk: On the occasion of the second phase of Vishwa Ijtema, the running time of Metro Rail has been increased on January 22. Metrorail will run all day on Sunday. Metrorail will run non-stop from 8 am to 5 pm today till January 22. This decision has been taken to relieve the city dwellers from extra traffic jams due to Ijtema.

This information was informed in the office order signed by Mohammad Abdur Rauf, Company Secretary (Additional Duty) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited. According to the notification, the metro rail will run from 8 am to 5 pm to facilitate the movement of passengers on the last day of the 2nd phase of Biswa Ijtema.

It was also informed that MJRT pass sales will be closed at two stations from 3 pm to 9 pm on this day to facilitate the movement of passengers. The Metrorail has been running once a day from Agargaon to Diabari in Uttara after starting its journey last December.

But due to Ijtema now it is running in two hours. Today those who want to go to Ijtema field on Turag shore after coming down from Diabari, they can use shuttle bus till Uttara House building. After the last prayer at noon, the participants of the Ijtema can return to Agargaon by metro rail till the afternoon. The fare for traveling on this route will be 60 taka.
