As will be the patient's diet in diabetes control

News desk: Today diabetes is a very well known disease. It is a chronic disease. Currently, the number of diabetes patients in the world is more than 54 million. The number of diabetes patients in Bangladesh is more than 13 million.

When the body fails to break down all the sugar (glucose) in the blood, it is called diabetes. Diabetes is called the mother of all diseases. Because, a patient with diabetes is more likely to be affected by other diseases.

Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to various complications. People can become blind due to diabetes. In addition, heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, skin diseases and foot ulcers or various foot diseases can occur.

Keeping in mind the prevalence and complications of diabetes, the first thing to control diabetes is to change the diet. Diabetes can be controlled through moderate diet and controlled diet.

What should be included in the diet of a diabetic patient-

. Carbohydrates should make up 45-55 percent of the daily diet. It is best taken from carbohydrates that are absorbed slowly. It does not increase the amount of sugar in the body quickly. Such sugars are - red rice, red flour.

. 20-25 percent of the daily diet can be non-vegetarian. For example, eggs, chicken meat without fat, milk without milk and fish.

.It is better to get omega 3 from unsaturated fats in fatty foods (almonds, seafood).

If you cook it every day, you can eat this type of vegetable as much as you want.

.Eat fruit every day. It is especially good to eat native sour fruits (mango, grapefruit, guava, amlaki).

Moderate amounts or what to avoid

. White rice, flour, noodles, pasta etc. should be eaten in moderation.
. Ghee, butter, dalda should not be eaten.
. It is better not to eat fatty meat.
. Sugar, sweets, honey, dates, soft drinks should not be consumed.
. Tea, coffee, alcohol cannot be consumed.

Diabetic patients should take medicines as per the rules and also eat food on time. Eat 5 to 6 times a day.

Eat a moderate amount of food from breakfast to three to three and a half hours before going to bed. While diabetes cannot be cured, it is not impossible to keep it under control.
