Information technology skills should be developed. For that purpose teachers are being trained on new curriculum. Education is one of the tools to face the challenges of the 21st century.'

The minister said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the golden jubilee and reunion ceremony of Bajua Surendranath College of Dakop Upazila of Khulna district on Friday afternoon.

The education minister said, 'The past governments have not done anything significant for the development of the country. Following the educational philosophy of Bangabandhu, Bangladesh is now moving forward at an unstoppable speed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Since the present government came to power, there has been an unprecedented improvement in the education sector. The government is working towards building the Sonar Bangla of the father of the nation's dream, achieving sustainable development goals by 2030, implementing Vision 2041 and meeting the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.

He said, 'Bangladesh has created a unique example in the world by handing over 35 crore books to students this year. Teachers and parents also have the responsibility to raise the quality of education in the country to global standards. We have to destroy the present for future generations. We are strongly committed to build a developed, prosperous, smart Bangladesh by 2041.'

The minister also said, 'In exchange of a lot of blood, we got an independent country. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gifted us an independent country. August 15, 1975 is a scandalous chapter in the history of the Bengali nation. The father of the nation was killed in his family with the direct and indirect support of the conspirators against the independence of the country. The plot of those assassins has not stopped yet.'
