TCB product volume not increasing for now: Tipu Munshi

News Desk:  The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has started the sale of products for the month of January at a subsidized price among one crore family card holders across the country. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that the amount of this product per person is not increasing for now. He said this while officially inaugurating the program in ward number 28 of Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday (January 10).  

At this time, Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh and TCB Chairman Brigadier General Md. were present as special guests. Ariful Hassan. The minister said that in the last one year, TCB has given subsidy of Tk 5,200 crore to provide products to one crore families. That is why the quantity of this product is not increasing for now. TCB products will be distributed to one household once per month. This program will continue so that the poor people do not suffer.

He said, today is Bangabandhu's homecoming day. The day is very significant for us. The process that has started today was started by Bangabandhu in 1972 by TCB.  

Tipu Munshi said, I want to say one thing on the return day, the country belongs to everyone, everyone wants to move the country forward, today there has been visible improvement in the country. But some don't want to accept it. Anyway, everyone should move the country forward.

Under the overall guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, under the great initiative of the Prime Minister, the sale of TCB products (oil, sugar and pulses) at affordable prices is ongoing among one crore beneficiary cardholder families of low income. For that purpose, the sales activities for the month of January have started from Tuesday across the country including Dhaka city. This sales activity will be conducted from dealers' shops/designated permanent establishment with full cooperation of City Corporation, District-Upzilla Administration and as per their scheduled date and time plan. Cardholders can purchase products at subsidized prices from regular designated dealers.
