News desk: BNP and like-minded opposition political parties are simultaneously holding a mass sit-in program for 10-point demands including resignation of the government. To carry out this program, the leaders and workers of the party started gathering in front of the party's central office in Nayapaltan from 9:30 am on Wednesday (January 11). The entire Nayapaltan area is buzzing with various slogans of the activists.
According to BNP's earlier announcement, the mass sit-in program will continue today from 11 am to 3 pm. A new program of simultaneous movement will be announced from the mass location program.
Meanwhile, contrary to BNP's program, Awami League has also announced showdowns and marches in different areas of the capital. As the day progressed, as the presence of BNP leaders and activists increased in the program, one side of the VIP road in Nayapaltan area was taken over by them. As a result, traffic on the road has stopped.
BNP's Dhaka Divisional Organizing Secretary Abdus Salam told Azad that the mass sit-in program has started in front of the central office in Nayapaltan. The activists have started coming.
Law and order forces are on high alert in Nayapaltan and surrounding areas, focusing on BNP's public space program. Police prison vans and water cannons have been placed in front of Nayapaltan China Town Market next to the public space program. Law and order forces were also seen taking positions at various intersections.
