International desk: Russia has launched a new massive missile attack on various cities of war-torn Ukraine. The massive attack came after two Russian military airfields were bombed and casualties were reported. And after that, Ukraine announced the threat of emergency blackout.

Reuters reported this information in a report on Tuesday (December 6). At least four people were killed and many houses were destroyed in this Russian missile attack in the southeastern part of Ukraine on Monday.

According to the report, Ukraine has warned that there will be an emergency blackout in some parts of the country after the new Russian missile attack. The country claims that Russian strikes have destroyed Ukrainian homes and left many areas without electricity. However, Ukraine is working to repair the damage.

Reuters says, fears of a new Russian missile attack across Ukraine have been raised for several days. And that Russian attack happened on Monday, and that too at a time when the emergency blackout was about to end to repair the damage caused by the previous Russian attack.

Temperatures in parts of Ukraine are below zero degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) and the latest Russian offensive has plunged parts of Ukraine into darkness. In addition, at least four people were killed in this attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

He claimed that most of the 70 missiles were shot down.

"In many regions, there will be emergency blackouts," Zelensky said in a video message late Monday. But we will do everything to restore stability.'

Media say Russia has stepped up missile attacks on Ukraine in recent weeks. Basically, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine's energy network and infrastructure on October 8 in retaliation for the deadly explosion and fire incident on Europe's largest rail and road bridge connecting Russia with the Crimea peninsula.

Among them was a drone attack on a Russian fleet in the Black Sea near Sevastopol, the largest port city in the occupied Crimea peninsula, last month. After that, on several occasions, Russia launched a barrage of missiles targeting Ukraine's energy facilities.

These recent attacks by Russia are part of a broader strategy after the failure of the main frontal war, and as winter sets in, the effects of this Russian strategy are beginning to be felt more acutely in Ukraine.
