Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: In the struggle of poverty, the farmer's father's inability to pay for his studies could not stop Hasibur Rahman Sujon, the eldest son of Shahadat Hossain and Maryam couple of Khatbari village of Mulgram union of Chatmohar upazila in Pabna.

When he was a teenager, he used to earn his own tuition by taking tuitions instead of hanging out with his friends during the holidays. He used to teach some of the students of a private teacher and in return he would get the opportunity to study for free with that teacher. Did anyone know that this smile will bring fame to the country one day? Hasibur will be a unique example of the student society of the country.

That Hasibur is now the elected VP of the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He is leading thousands of students by being elected VP under the banner of International Students Union Malaysia.

Where students from many other countries are studying apart from Malaysia. He is playing a role in realizing the demands of those students. Trying to solve the problems of students there. Giving directions, work related motivation.

Many people have contributed to this achievement of Hasibur. He frankly admits it. Hard work, strong will has taken him to unique heights. Neighbors of the village, school and college teachers all gave him mental strength and courage.

Hasibur Rahman said that he started his education in a Hafezia madrasa. After studying for a few days in a private children's educational institution of Khatbari village, he was admitted to Khatbari Government Primary School. From there, after passing the fifth standard, he was admitted to Jagatala Dakhil Madrasa. In 2010, he got GPA-5 and submitted. He was admitted to Chatmohar Degree College in Higher Secondary. Passed Higher Secondary in 2013 with GPA-5.

Moved to Malaysia on student visa in 2015. Completed Diploma in Business Administration in 2017 from Epitami College. In 2018, he was admitted to the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in Selangor, Malaysia, in Bachelor of Human Research to obtain his bachelor's degree. Now he is a final year student. He contested for the post of VP of the university in 2022. About seven thousand voters from ten-twelve countries including Malaysia voted. He was finally elected Vice President (VP) on February 10 after competing with 14 rivals.

Hasibur also said that during my teenage years, I sold labor at other people's houses instead of hanging out with my friends on holidays to earn money for studying. I would not waste time. I always tried to do better than others in work, studies. Many people thought I was arrogant. But I wasn't like that at all. My teachers have always helped me. My parents are very poor. My father also sold labor, still does. I am doing internship. I will try to help poor students if possible. He always advises the students to make good use of their time.

Hasibur's father Shahadat Hossain said that he could never fully meet his son's needs. I cultivate only one bigha of land. I am trying to raise three children by selling labor in other people's houses. Mother Mariam Khatun said that I have sewn people's necks for money. I raised chickens. They had to sell eggs without eating them to provide money for reading and writing. Younger son Mustafizur Rahman Sajeeb is also reading and writing. They had to suffer a lot. Still to be done.

Hasibur's neighbor Mujibur Rahman said that it was very difficult to bring the boy to this stage due to the poor financial condition of his parents. Kamruzzaman Milon, teacher of Jagatala Dakhil Madrasa, said, "It is certainly a matter of pride that our student has been elected as the VP of the University of Malaysia and is giving student leadership." We wish him a bright future.
