Support should be extended to women entrepreneurs: Speaker

News Desk:  The hand of cooperation should be extended to women entrepreneurs. The Speaker of the National Assembly expressed hope that they will be able to turn their small industries into medium and large industries if they get minimum financial support. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

He said this at the opening ceremony of the 'International Women Entrepreneurs Conference-2022' organized by 'Bangladesh Investment Development Authority and Bangladesh Bharat Business Parishad' at Radisson Blu Hotel on Wednesday (November 23).

The Speaker said that women should be involved in every sector of development to maintain the stability of the national economy in the post-Covid period.

Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said, the women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh have come this far after going through many ups and downs. They are making important contribution to the national economy by producing quality products and creating employment.

He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ensured the full involvement of women entrepreneurs in the ICT sector. Women entrepreneurs are connecting with e-commerce in digital Bangladesh. Entrepreneurs are being given government financial support and they are also getting loans on easy terms to expand their businesses. Women entrepreneurs need to extend the hand of cooperation to export quality products produced abroad and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority can play an important role in this regard.

In this event, President of Bangladesh Bharat Business Parishad Mr. Mantasa Ahmed read the keynote speech, Founder President of Summit Group, Muhammad Aziz Khan.  

President of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry spoke as a special guest. Harbin Arora Roy, President of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority. Jasim Uddin, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Ahmad Kaykaus, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Private Industries and Investments Salman F. Rahman and Planning Minister MA Mannan.

Mohsina Yasmin, executive member of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, gave thanks on the occasion. Women entrepreneurs, business representatives from different countries were present in this international women entrepreneurs conference.
