Five people died of dengue in the country today, 796 were hospitalized

News desk: Five people have died in the last 24 hours due to dengue. With this, the number of deaths due to dengue fever in the country increased to 187 this year.

At the same time, 796 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. As a result, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals across the country now stands at 3,144.

On Wednesday (November 9) in charge of Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health Dr. Md. This information was given in the dengue report signed by Zahidul Islam.

Earlier on Tuesday (November 8) five people died and 820 new patients were admitted to the hospital by the Department of Health. With the death of five people this year, the death toll has increased to 182, which is the highest number of dengue deaths in a year in the country's history.

It is said that 459 of the 796 people admitted to the hospital with dengue from Tuesday (November 8) to Wednesday (November 9) at 8 am are residents of Dhaka and 337 outside Dhaka. The total number of dengue patients admitted in various public and private hospitals of the country including new cases has reached 3 thousand 144.

According to the information of the Department of Health, a total of 45 thousand 598 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue from January 1 to November 9 this year. Among them, 42 thousand 267 people have recovered and received discharge from the hospital.

Meanwhile, five deaths due to dengue have been reported in 24 hours. A total of 187 people have died of dengue since January 1. The first death due to dengue was reported on June 21 this year.

During the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, dengue transmission was not seen much. However, in 2021, 28 thousand 429 people were infected with dengue throughout the country. 105 of them died.
