News Desk:  BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the Awami League government is suffering from the disease of public fear and that the government is creating obstacles in the BNP rally because it is afraid of the people. The government is pushing the situation towards conflict by obstructing the divisional mass meeting of BNP in Khulna.

He said this in a press conference at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan in the capital on Friday (October 21) morning.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "BNP's public meeting in Khulna on Saturday." A reign of terror has been built around this mass gathering. Public transport has been stopped. Awami League terrorists are rehearsing with Ramada, weapons. BNP leaders and workers are being arrested.”

Secretary General of BNP said, "Police raided the house where the party's standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, who was involved in organizing the mass meeting in Khulna, stayed on Thursday night. 19 leaders and workers of the party have been arrested from there.”

Stating that the current government does not think about the people, Mirza Fakhrul said, "If they thought about the common people, they would not have stopped the public transport to prevent the mass gathering." This government wants to do everything except the people. They want to run the state excluding the people. They want to hold elections without the people. When the people wake up, they will have to give up power—they are always afraid of this. This government does not believe in democracy."
