Sohel Rana, Narail: A press briefing was held on the occasion of 'SM Sultan Boat Bych' Competition-2022 on the legendary Chitra river of Narail named after the world famous painter SM Sultan to publicize the heritage and art culture of rural Bengal. On Wednesday (October 19), a press briefing was held in the conference room of Narail District Administrator organized by District Administration and Industry SM, Sultan Foundation. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habibur Rahman said that next Saturday (October 22) at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, a boat race will be held from Sheikh Russell Bridge to SM Sultan Bridge on Chitra River in Narail, and 20 boats from different parts of the country will participate in this boat race. Among them there will be 3 boats in Talai group, 11 in Kalai group, 4 in Mahila group and 2 gold ornamented Sonartari boats from Madaripur. The inaugural ceremony will be held on the banks of the Chitra River under Sheikh Russell Bridge in Narail and the awards will be distributed at the traditional Bandaghat square at the end of the Baich. Khulna Divisional Commissioner Zillur Rahman Chowdhury will be the chief guest to inaugurate the boat race and distribute prizes. DIG Khulna Range will be the special guest. b. Mahiduddin.
