Import of 6 trained horses from India for Police

Md. Osman Gani, Benapole: 6 trained horses have been imported from India through Benapole land port for Bangladesh Police. The importing organization is the Inspector General of Bangladesh Police. The horses entered Benapole Port via Petrapole Port in India on Tuesday (Oct 06) evening. A C&F agent named Madhyam worked to release the horses. Its export agent is JK Enterprises Kolkata. The matter was confirmed by Sajedur Rahman, representative of C&F Media Enterprise and general secretary of C&F Staff Association. Benapole Land Port Deputy Director (Traffic) Monirul Islam said that the horses were imported for 83 thousand 340 US dollars, which is about 89 lakhs in Bangladeshi currency. Imported horses are discounted by C&F agents of Benapole through M/s Media Enterprises. He also said that instructions have been given to the concerned for speedy release of horses imported for the police. The Benapole Port Police Station is supervising the maintenance of the horses. Sajedur Rahman, representative of C&F Agent Messrs. Madhyam Enterprise, said that Bangladesh Police bought 6 (Marwari) horse carriages from Rajasthan, India. After release the horses will leave Benapole Port for Dhaka's Rajar Bagh Police Line. Officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station Kamal Hossain Bhuia said, "All kinds of cooperation has been provided by the administration to the concerned authorities for the speedy release of the imported horses." #
