Jahangir Alam Bhuiyan, Sunamganj: In Jagannathpur Upazila Parishad elections of Sunamganj, the president of Upazila Awami League, Akmal Hossain, former chairman of Upazila Parishad, has won the post of chairman. Akmal Hossain was nominated by Awami League in the last upazila parishad election. In that election he was defeated by BNP candidate Ataur Rahman. On Tuesday (October 4) evening, the electoral nomination board of Awami League nominated him as the party candidate. Sunamganj District Awami League General Secretary Barrister Enamul Kabir Emon confirmed the truth of the nomination and said that the party president has nominated Akmal Hossain as the candidate of the party in the nomination board held under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The last day to submit nominations is September 6. Voting will be held on November 2.
