News Desk: The price of soybean oil has been reduced by Tk 14 per litre. The price of bottled soybean oil has been reduced by Rs 14 to Rs 178, which was sold at Rs 192 till now.
In addition, 5 liter bottles have been fixed at Tk 880 and open soybean oil at Tk 158 per liter.
The new prices will be effective from Tuesday (October 4).
Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Bonaspati Manufacturers Association informed this information in a press release on Monday (October 3).
According to the circular, the members of the Edible Oil Owners' Association met Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F. Rahman and Prime Minister's Senior Secretary Tofazzal Hossain Mia regarding the unusual increase in the value of the dollar and the complications of opening LCs. At this time, City Group Chairman Fazlur Rahman, Meghna Group Chairman Mustafa Kamal and T. K Group MD Mustafa Haider was present.
After a detailed discussion on the rise in dollar value and complications of LC opening in the meeting, the price of edible oil was rescheduled to be reduced by Rs.14 for the convenience of consumers.
