Distribution of clothes by Vice Chairman Shamima Akhtar among poor women in Tangail

Md. Rashed Khan Menon (Russell), Tangail: Women Vice-Chairman of Tangail Sadar Upazila Parishad, Shamima Akhtar, has distributed clothes (sari) among three hundred poor women belonging to Sanatan religion with her own funding. On Tuesday, these clothes were distributed at Sadat Bazar Puja Mandap of Kartia Union of Sadar Upazila. Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Khalekuzzaman Chowdhury Majnu, chairman of Kartia Union Parishad spoke in the cloth distribution ceremony, Kamruzzaman Ripon, general secretary of Tangail District Tanti League, Bir Muktijoddha Gaur Chandra Karmakar, president of Kartia Puja celebration committee and general secretary Malay Chandra Pal spoke. At that time Sadar Upazila Women's Vice-Chairman Shamima Akhter said that many mothers are unable to buy new clothes after purchasing new clothes for their boys and girls during the Puja. So that the mothers can wear new clothes and go to the puja mandap. This activity will continue in the future.
