Al Masud, Panchagarh: BNP National Standing Committee member and former minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku commented, 'This government has no responsibility towards the people. They don't care who died and who survived. Because they don't need any votes. They sit like rocks for 15 years. And has been telling lies. He said these things while present as the chief guest at a ceremony to provide financial assistance to the families of the victims of the boat sinking incident in the Karatoa river organized by Boda and Debiganj BNP at the Madea High School and College grounds of Madea Bamanhat Union of Boda Upazila of Panchagarh on Saturday (October 1). Meanwhile, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said that such a big accident has never happened in this region before. The upazila chairman and executive officer here did not take any action. If they had placed the mountain there and allowed it to rise according to the capacity. Then such a big accident would not have happened. It doesn't matter who lives and who dies. Everyone is eager to go to the puja ceremony through this ghat. If the government had taken care there, so many people would not have died. Meanwhile, financial assistance of 10,000 taka was given to the family members of 69 people who died in the boat sinking incident. Later the central leaders of BNP visited the Aulia Ghat boat launch site in Madera. District BNP member secretary and national executive committee member Farhad Hossain Azad presided over the financial assistance ceremony, Rangpur division organizing secretary and former minister Asadul Habib Dulu, district BNP convener Zahirul Islam Kachchu and others were present.
