Weapons, magazines and ammunition seized 1 in separate operation at Benapole border

Osman Gani, Benapole: Border Guard Bangladesh BGB members arrested an arms dealer named Samrat Hossain (27) along with 7 foreign pistols, 3 magazines and 10 rounds of bullets in two separate raids at the Benapole border. On Friday (September 30) at 11:30 pm, the arrest was made from Agrabhulat border and Daulatpur border of Benapole. The arrested accused Samrat Hossain is the son of Mosharof Hossain of Daulatpur village under Benapole Port police station. Khulna-21 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Mohammad Tanveer Rahman said that at 11:30 p.m., based on secret information, a large shipment of arms from India will enter Bangladesh through Daulatpur border. On the basis of such news, a suspicious youth was raided there and asked to stop the speed. Meanwhile, the young man tried to run away by dropping a chaat bag in his hand, and BGB members chased him and arrested him. Later, two (nine mm) foreign pistols, two Desio one shooters, two magazines and four rounds were recovered from his discarded chaat bag. Besides, on the other hand, two Desio One shooters and one nine mm pistol, one magazine and 6 rounds were recovered abandoned from Agrabhulat border at 10 pm. At that time, the smugglers sensed the presence of the BGB and managed to escape. The estimated value of these recovered weapons is Tk 3 lakh 45 thousand.
