Hili land port will be closed for import and export for one week during puja

Salah Uddin Ahmed, Dinajpur: Due to Durga Puja, the big religious festival of Sanatan religionists and weekend holidays, import and export operations at Dinajpur Hilli land port will be closed for 8 consecutive days from September 30 to October 7. However, the travel of passport holders to the immigration department of Hilli will be active. Jamil Hossain Chalant, general secretary of Heli Customs C&F Agent Association, said that import and export trade of goods from India will be closed at Heli port during the Puja holiday from October 1 to October 7. There will be no import or export between the two countries. Ashok Kumar, convenor of the Indian Healy Exporter and Clearing Agent Association, has informed the Bangladeshi business organization through a letter that today is a weekly holiday on Friday (September 29). After the autumn Durga Puja and Friday weekend, import and export activities will resume from Saturday, October 8. Hili Customs and Land Customs Station Deputy Commissioner Biojid Hossain said that due to the holiday at the port, all activities within the customs will be closed. All activities of customs will be started as before with the start of import-export of goods from Saturday, October 8. Meanwhile, Badiuzzaman, in charge of Hili immigration check post, said that even if import and export are closed during the holiday, the immigration department will be active in the crossing of passport holders.
