As a result, the law and order situation in the upazila is gradually deteriorating. Panic is being created among the common people. A drug addict named Ramzan Ali stabbed a businessman named Hafizur Rahman to death in Handyal Sluicegate area of ​​Chatmohar Upazila on September 11. Local residents immediately arrested the killer and handed him over to the police. On the evening of September 21, they broke the door of Asma Khatun's house in Chhota Shalikha Mohalla of the city and stole Tk 40,000 in cash and two loads of gold jewellery. The theft took place at the house of Nurjahan Begum Mukti, the tenant of Nimaichra Union Parishad, a tenant of the same neighborhood. The thief stole cash and gold ornaments. There have also been incidents of theft in several shops and workshops in the city recently. On September 20, a group of thieves broke into the house of a bookseller named Roknuzzaman and stole a large amount of gold ornaments and money. Discover 150 cc motorcycle went missing from the house of prominent businessman Mohram Mallik in Relbazar area of ​​the upazila after evening on September 22. On September 23, miscreants stole gold ornaments and cash from the housewife at Pathailhat village of Mulgram union of Chatmohar upazila. This incident happened on Saturday around 3:00 pm. On the night of September 24, a Diang-80 model motorcycle belonging to Feroze Sarkar in Jagatala village of the same union was stolen from his house. On September 25, a neighbor tried to rape a 7-year-old child in Mohramkhali village of Mulgram union of Chatmohar upazila. On the afternoon of September 26, at Shahi Hotel near Chatmohar Upazila Gate, members of the juvenile gang severely beat up some students staying in the hotel. On the night of September 27, a business called Star Poultry Feed Mill and Medicine located at Chatmohar Bypass Junction was robbed. Thieves stole poultry feed worth about two lakh rupees. The police have been able to arrest some of the criminals involved in these incidents and bring them under the law. Many still remain unaccounted for. Conscious circles hope that the police will be more active in improving the law and order situation. They demanded to increase the police patrol day and night. In this regard, Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jalal Uddin said, we have manpower shortage. Unpleasant incidents are being investigated. Those involved in the incident are being brought under the law. Convicts are not being spared. Care is also being taken to ensure that no innocent person is subjected to undue suffering. The overall law and order situation is under the control of the police.
