Entertainment Desk: The court has issued an arrest warrant against Bollywood producer and director actress Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor. The warrant was issued for allegedly insulting Indian Army officers and disrespecting their wives and families in the web series. After the hearing of the case on Wednesday, the judge of Begusarai court in Bihar gave this order. News from India Express.
On June 6, 2020, former army officer Shambhu Kumar filed a complaint in the court. There, he alleged, the web series named 'Triple X' showed several 'objectionable' scenes of an extramarital affair between an army officer's wife and another man. These scenes shocked him as a former army officer.
However, the offending scene was cut two years ago from the web series produced under Alt Balaji's banner. Ekta Kapoor even apologized in a video message about this.
Regarding why the arrest warrant was issued against the mother and daughter, Shambhu's lawyer Rishikesh Pathak said that despite the removal of the objectionable scene, they (Ekta and Shobha Kapoor) still did not appear in the court even after the summons was issued in this case. That is why the court has issued a warrant against him.
The lawyer said that the web series was released on ALT Balaji OTT platform. This is the OTT platform of Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms Limited. Ekta's mother Shobha Kapoor is also associated with Balaji Telefilms.
