8 dead bodies of those killed in Panchagarh boat sinking recovered in Dinajpur

Salah Uddin Ahmed, Dinajpur: The dead bodies of eight people including 2 children and 6 women were found floating in different rivers of Khansama and Birganj upazilas of Dinajpur. The fire service and civil defense and the locals along with the thana police searched and recovered the bodies of 6 people from Monday morning to 1 pm today. The bodies of 2 more women were recovered by 4 pm. 8 dead bodies were found in those two areas of Dinajpur till 4 o'clock. Those concerned believe that more bodies may come to the surface. Chitta Ranjan Roy, in-charge of Khansama police station, said that the bodies of 1 child and 5 women were recovered from the Atrai river from morning to 4 pm. They handed over 4 bodies to their relatives. Besides, they fear that more bodies may float. Meanwhile, Birganj police station in-charge Subrata Kumar Sarkar said that 3 bodies, including 1 child and 2 women, were recovered in the Birganj area in Atrai and the connecting Dhepa river. Dinajpur Superintendent of Police Shah Iftekhar Ahmed said that the recovered bodies were identified as those of the boat sinking incident in Boda area of ​​Panchagarh and taken by the relatives for cremation. After identification, they handed over the body to the relatives in the legal process.
