Market capital increased by two and a half thousand crores, transactions increased

News desk:  After a week of downward trend, the country's stock market has seen an upward trend again last week. Shares and units of most of the companies that participated in the trade during the week were lower but the values ​​increased. Along with that, the volume of transactions has increased. Market capitalization also increased. 

In one week, the market capitalization of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the main stock market, has increased to more than 2500 crore rupees. In the previous week, DSE's market capitalization fell by Rs 2,500 crore. However, the market capitalization increased to more than 19 thousand crore rupees in its previous four-week rise.

The market capitalization of DSE stood at Tk 5,22,743 crore after the last trading day of last week. Which was 5 lakh 20 thousand 126 crores on the last working day of the previous week. That is, the market capitalization of DSE increased by Tk 2,617 crore last week. The market capitalization decreased by Tk 2,538 crore in the previous week. In the previous four weeks, the market capitalization increased by Tk 19 thousand 398 crores.

Shares and unit prices of a large number of companies participating in trading on the DSE fell last week despite the rise in market capitalization. During the week, shares and units of 86 companies participating in trading on the DSE entered the list of gainers. On the contrary, the price of 166 has decreased. And the price of 134 remains unchanged.

However, DSE's flagship index DSEX rose by 48.99 points or 75.75 percent last week. The index fell by 45 points or 69.69 percent in the previous week.

And the DSE-30 index, which is made up of selected good companies, rose by 19.33 points or 82.82 percent last week. The index fell by 29.82 points or 1.25 percent in the previous week.

Along with the main and DSE-30 indices, the DSE Shariah index, which comprises companies operating on the basis of Islamic Shariah, rose last week. Last week this index increased by 7.17 points or 50.00 percent. The index fell by 11.69 points or 81.81 percent in the previous week.

Along with the rise in all indices, the volume of transactions on the DSE increased. An average of Tk 2,227 crore was traded on DSE every working day last week. In the previous week, the average daily transaction was 1 thousand 416 crore 58 lakh taka. That is, the average transaction per working day has increased by 605 crore 49 lakh taka or 42.74 percent.

And during the last week the total transaction in DSE was 10 thousand 110 crore 39 lakh taka. 7 thousand 82 crores 92 lakhs were traded in the previous week. Accordingly, the total transaction has increased by 3 thousand 27 crore 47 lakh taka or 42.74 percent.

Orion Pharma shares were the most traded in rupee terms on DSE last week. During the week, the shares of the company were traded at Tk 1,240 crore, 47 lakh 95 thousand, which is 12.27 percent of the total transaction. The shares of Beximco in the second place were traded at 1 thousand 136 crore 73 lakh 89 thousand taka. Bangladesh Shipping Corporation is in the third place with a loan of 479 crore 70 lakh 41 thousand taka.

Apart from this, the list of top ten institutions in transactions includes- JMI Hospital and Requisite Manufacturing, LafargeHolsim Bangladesh, Unique Hotel and Resort, Eastern Housing, Acme Laboratories, Shahinpukur Ceramics and Shahjibazar Power.
