The authorities have not found any evidence of theft of luggage of female footballers at the airport

News Desk: Two players of Bangladesh women's football team, who won the Saf Women's Football Championship, were charged with theft of money from their luggage at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. However, the airport authorities said that the truth of the complaint was not found.

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Executive Director Group Captain Md. This information was informed in a circular signed by Kamrul Islam.

According to the notification, the airport authorities have monitored and analyzed the CCTV footage. It did not show the truth of the incident. Flight BG-372 arrived from Kathmandu and landed in Dhaka at 1:42 pm yesterday. Later, allegations of theft of money (dollars and taka) from the bag (hold baggage) of BAFUF protocol representative Imran and two women members of the football team were found on various social media. Based on this complaint, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Authority did not find the truth of the incident by monitoring and analyzing the CCTV footage.

It also said that the CCTV footage showed the Buffe protocol representative and two team members taking possession of the luggage intact and locked. They left the airport after receiving the luggage from Biman Bangladesh Airlines authorities.

It is known that Krishna broke the lock of the luggage and took 900 US dollars and 50 thousand rupees. On the other hand, Shamsunnahar's luggage was deducted 400 US dollars. Apart from this, some valuable belongings of these two footballers have been lost.

When asked about this, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Uttara Division of DMP Mohammad Morshed Alam said that no written or verbal complaint has been received so far in the theft incident. However, we are monitoring the footage of multiple CCTV cameras in the airport area.

Additional Superintendent of Police of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) in charge of the airport Mohammad Ziaul Haque Palash said, "We are investigating the matter spontaneously after receiving the news."

Detective Uttara Division Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) Md. Akramul Hossain said, the DB unit has already started working.

Director of RAB's Legal and Media Wing, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, said the women's football team returned home on Wednesday (September 21) after completing the clean mission in Nepal. The theft of money by a member of the winning team immediately after his return is sad and shocking. In the meantime, RAB has increased intelligence surveillance to find those involved in this incident and bring them under the law. Besides, multiple CCTV footages of the airport and its surrounding areas are being reviewed.

Footballers witnessed the theft after the luggage arrived at the Bafuff building on Wednesday night. Krishna Rani Sarkar played a major role in making Bangladesh champions by scoring a pair of goals against Nepal in the final. Shamsunnahar played in the eleven in every match.
