Two more died of dengue in Chittagong, 12 infected

News Desk: Two people have died in the last 24 hours due to dengue fever in Chittagong. 12 people were affected. With this, from January 1 to September 22 this year, the number of dengue deaths in the port city has increased to three and the number of infected has increased to 405.

Chittagong Civil Surgeon office informed these information on Thursday (September 22).

One of the deceased died in Chittagong Medical College Hospital and the other in Chittagong Evercare Hospital. However, their identities have not been confirmed by the Civil Surgeon's office. Three people have died in Chittagong so far this year due to dengue. All of them are women.

According to the District Civil Surgeon's office, from January 1 to September 22, 405 people were infected with dengue in Chittagong. Most of those affected are in metropolitan areas. As of September 22 morning, 333 people have been infected with dengue in the metropolis. Three of them died.

256 people have been infected with dengue in Chittagong this September. Among them, the number of infected people in the metropolis is 200.

Chittagong civil surgeon Dr. Mohammad Elias Chowdhury told Jago News that the number of dengue cases has increased a lot in the month of September. Last July, 50 people were infected, in August it increased to 76 people. Out of the 256 people infected so far in September, 200 are residents of the city and 50 are residents of different upazilas. 6 people are receiving treatment in Chittagong after being infected in the outer district.

He said, we have written to various organizations including the City Corporation and urged them to kill mosquitoes. Instructions have been given to district and upazila hospitals to ensure proper treatment of dengue victims.
