Bhai victim of assault while fetching SSC examinee in Baufal

Baufal Correspondent: SSC candidate Mafia Akhter alias Tishar (15) was waiting for his elder brother Md. Tanvir Hossain (20). Mafia Akhter was coming out after the exam. As soon as the brother came near, some miscreants ambushed him. Elopatari was beaten and punched and left injured. Injured Tanveer was rescued and treated at Upazila Health Complex. The incident took place at the eastern gate of Kankadia Sir Salimullah School and College of Baufal Upazila of Patuakhali at around 1 pm today. Tanveer Hossain is the nephew of ASM Mohsin, Chairman of Nazirpur Tanterkathi Union of Upazila. His (Tanveer's) father Ahsan Habib is UP Member of Ward No. 1 of the same union. Tanveer's sister Mafia Akhtar is giving SSC exam this year from Nurainpur Agrani Vidyapeet of upazila. Today was the math test. Tanveer was carrying out the responsibility of taking his sister to the examination center and taking her back home. Tanveer said, Mafia will leave Akhtar for home on a motorcycle. Just then a group of 10-12 locals attacked him without any reason in front of his sister. Mafia Akhtar says, I screamed but they did not leave my brother. Tanveer's father complained that his elder brother ASM Mohsin was elected as an independent candidate in the by-election for the chairmanship of Nazirpur Tanterkathi Union Parishad (UP) held recently (September 6). His son was attacked by mercenary youth gang terrorists in the wake of that election. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baufal police station Al Mamun said, "He is not aware of the matter." However, if a written complaint is received, legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
