Bangladesh will not step into Myanmar's provocation

News desk: Bangladesh will not step into any provocation by Myanmar. Acting Foreign Secretary Rear Admiral (Retd.) commented that Myanmar wants to take advantage by creating regional instability without taking back the Rohingyas. Khorshed Alam.

He said this to reporters after a meeting with the ambassadors of China, Japan and Western countries on Tuesday (September 20) morning. The Acting Foreign Secretary held a meeting with the ambassadors to inform them about Myanmar's stubbornness and insolent behavior at the border.

The secretary said that the diplomats have been informed about the behavior of Myanmar. They are told to do something if they have to do it.

Khorshed Alam said that Bangladesh is maintaining communication with Myanmar. Dhaka does not want stability to be destroyed in any way. Myanmar's separatists are sheltering in Bangladesh, the country's charge has been rejected by the acting foreign secretary.

He said, there is no basis for this complaint. Bangladesh will never allow any group to use its territory to destabilize any other country.

Earlier on Monday (September 19), the Acting Foreign Secretary informed the ASEAN mission chiefs in Dhaka about the ongoing tension situation on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. He informed the ASEAN envoys about Dhaka's deep concern over the recent incidents of mortar shelling and explosions from Myanmar inside Bangladesh. The ASEAN envoys have assured to convey the concerns of Bangladesh's Acting Foreign Secretary to their respective governments.

Dhaka protested by calling the Myanmar ambassador on August 21, the day after mortar shells landed on the Bangladesh border from Myanmar on August 20.
