Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in New York to attend the United Nations session

News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in New York to attend the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP chartered flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at New York's John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport on Monday (September 19) at 10:25 pm local time.

At this time, the Ambassador of Bangladesh in Washington Muhammad Imran and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Muhammad Abdul Muhith welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport.

Earlier, the Prime Minister left London at 8pm local time on Monday after attending the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to London on a pre-arranged visit on September 15. From there, he was scheduled to go to New York on the night of September 18 or the morning of September 19 to attend the session of the United Nations General Assembly. In other words, I was supposed to stay in London for 4 days.

However, the Prime Minister's visit to the UK was extended by one day to 5 days to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

It is known that Sheikh Hasina will attend the reception organized by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the 77th opening ceremony of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 20.

He will also hold bilateral meetings with UNHCR's Filippo Grandi and Slovenian President Barut Pahor. On the same day, she will also join the Platform of Women Leaders at the United Nations.

At the end of the day, the Prime Minister will also attend a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden.

On September 21, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the High Level Sustainable Housing Program organized by Bangladesh, Botswana, Slovak Republic and the United Nations.

He will later hold a bilateral meeting with WEF Executive Director Prof. Schwab Klaus and attend the Global Crisis Response Group (GCRC) Champions Meeting.

This afternoon, the Prime Minister will visit the photo exhibition on the Padma Bridge at the United Nations Headquarters and then the President of Kosovo. Vjosa will hold bilateral meetings with Osmani-Sadriu, Ecuadorian President Guillermo Laso Mendoza and Rabab Fatima.

The Prime Minister will attend a breakfast meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) on 22 September and pay a courtesy call on IOM Director General Antonio Vitorino. He will attend a high-level roundtable meeting with the US-Bangladesh Business Council. He will later hold bilateral meetings with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Teko Hun Sen and ICC Prosecutors Nick Clegg and Karim Khan.

On September 23, the Prime Minister will address the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. On September 24, he will attend the civic reception of expatriate Bangladeshis.
