News Desk: General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader commented that complaining to foreigners and openly seeking help from various embassies is a clear manifestation of BNP's spineless politics.

He made this comment during a briefing in his office at the Secretariat on Sunday (August 18).

Obaidul Quader said, Awami League has no precedent of kneeling down in the management of the country. BNP has such a precedent. They verbally complain to foreigners against the country, and request foreign interference in the country's internal affairs.

"BNP wants to see the country as dependent and on its knees, wants to be submissive. On the other hand, Awami League wants to elevate the country to a prestigious and prosperous position.

Referring to the incident of firing mortar shells by Myanmar on the border of Bangladesh, he said that Bangladesh demanded a reply from Myanmar and protested at the beginning of this incident. The ambassador of that country was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At that time, Myanmar said that the mortar shell accidentally landed on the border of Bangladesh. They told Bangladesh that they will be careful in the future. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking into the matter in the light of international law and protocol after the same incident happened again.

The general secretary of Awami League said that this incident happened as a result of the clash of security forces with different groups of Myanmar by mistake or whether it was provocation.

He also said that Bangladesh is an independent and sovereign state. Every inch of soil in this country is like its own existence to Sheikh Hasina's government. Bangladesh wants a peaceful solution to any problem. The Prime Minister also spoke about this yesterday in London.
According to Obaidul Quader, the people of the country are still angry with BNP for various misdeeds. The party is once again walking on the path of terror, provoking Awami League leaders and activists and the police.

He said, BNP leaders are saying on one side that they are not being given a chance. And when they get a chance, they choose the path of terror instead of peaceful programs.

"They targeted the police. I call on BNP to withdraw from creating anarchy in the name of movement.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander V Mantisky paid a courtesy call on Obaidul Quader at his office.

Meanwhile, the ambassador expressed interest in becoming a partner in road development in Bangladesh. They also discussed the global situation and issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
