News desk: Bangladesh Bank has banned any transaction in cryptocurrency (digital currency) and Bitcoin. On Thursday (September 15), the Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank issued a circular in this regard. The circular has been sent to all authorized dealer banks engaged in foreign exchange transactions. In addition to banks, financial institutions, MFS institutions and all those related to foreign exchange have been sent a letter. It has been asked to ensure that such transactions cannot be done through them. According to the circular, virtual assets, virtual currency and Bitcoin cannot be traded. Because these transactions have no legal basis. Again, it has been asked to refrain from such transactions even with export earnings. Earlier, in a notification in July last year, Bangladesh Bank asked to refrain from transactions in cryptocurrencies. Using cryptocurrencies carries financial and legal risks, the company said.
