Sanju Roy, Bogra: Bangladesh Railway has demolished the illegal establishment of Veer Muktijoddha Hasen Ali Sarkar Railway (Employee) Kalyan Trust Super Market at Station Road in Bogra. Around 120,600 square feet of around 100 shops were demolished. Bangladesh Railway Lalmonirhat Executive Magistrate Purnendu Deb raided the market on Station Road in the city around 12 noon on Wednesday. Purnendu Dev said about the campaign, "Railway Employees Welfare Trust has leased the place from Bangladesh Railway. However, illegal shops were set up in the parking area in violation of railway rules and laws. And that's why 12 thousand 600 square feet of illegal construction has been evicted for the parking zone in front of the market. Shops have been built illegally in this parking area. Despite repeated notices, they did not take any action. Illegal shops are evicted on the basis of reservation of parking spaces. There are complaints of several other shops in the market which will be phased out. As per the instructions of the Railway Authority, no illegal shops and premises will be allowed to occupy. Meanwhile, when talking to Amanullah Babu, a clothing merchant in the market, he said in a tone of despair, "Where will we go now?" I bought a shop built on a leased place for 8 lakhs and rented another for 1.5 lakhs. It has been 3 months since I started the business. What will happen to us in this situation! Many other ordinary traders present there also expressed such sentiments. In general context, market construction contractor Abdul Mannan Akand said that Haider and his son Raihan, the president of small business association, vandalized the market 3 times in different ways. During the operation, the traders got angry and beat up Raihan. During this eviction campaign of Bangladesh Railway, Assistant Land Property Officer Lalmonirhat Touhidul Islam, Bogra Field Kanungo Golam Nabi and other members of law and order forces were present. Meanwhile, the concerned said that this campaign will continue until the illegal establishment is completely eviction.
