Trading in the stock market started on a new schedule as the index fell

News Desk: Under the pressure of selling shares, trading has started in the two capital markets of the country in the new schedule. Engineering, Power & Energy and Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals sectors led the indices and most companies to fall.

As a result, the main index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country's capital market, fell by 15 points in the first half hour of trading on Wednesday (August 24). Another capital market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) main index decreased by 1 point. Share prices of most companies fell along with indices in both markets. Transactions have also been slow.

According to DSE data, shares and units of 371 companies were traded in DSE between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM. Among them, the share price of 75 companies increased, 158 decreased and 102 remained unchanged.

At this time, the main index of DSE, DSEX, fell by 15 points to 6,300 points. Among the other two indices, the DSES index fell by 1 point. The DS-30 index fell by 5 points from the previous day. At this time, shares worth 190 crore 32 lakh 9 thousand taka were traded in DSE.

In the same situation, another capital market, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), is trading. In the first half an hour, the overall index of CSE CASPI decreased by 1 point to 18 thousand 453 points. The transaction was 1 crore 33 lakh 74 thousand 537 taka.

Shares and units of 154 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, the share price of 20 companies increased, 15 decreased, and 19 remained unchanged.

It should be noted that two stock exchanges have started trading in the capital market on a new schedule from 9:30 am to 1:50 pm as per government instructions from Wednesday. The capital market regulator Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has issued guidelines for compliance with the new trading schedule.

It was informed that, in the light of the decision of the cabinet department, it has been decided to continue the capital market transactions from 9:30 am in coordination with the bank transactions. The transaction will end at 1:50 PM. But after that post closing will be another 10 minutes.
