Kurigram Representative: In Ulipur of Kurigram, three shopkeepers have been fined a total of Tk 4,000 in the consumer rights market surveillance campaign for the crime of selling goods under weight and at high prices. The operation was conducted in different shops of Ulipur city on Friday (August 19) afternoon. Kurigram District Consumer Rights Office Assistant Director Md. Mostafizur Rahman confirmed this information. According to related sources, on Friday afternoon, under the leadership of Assistant Director of Kurigram District Consumer Rights Office, Md. Mostafizur Rahman, the Ulipur market surveillance operation was conducted. At that time, Nikhil Majhi's hilsa fish shop was fined Tk 2,000 for the crime of underweight, Ramzan Ali's Monihari shop was fined Tk 1,000 for the crime of selling goods at arbitrary prices without giving a price list, and Rafiqul Islam's egg shop was fined Tk 1,000 for the crime of selling eggs at a high price. Ulipur Upazila Sanitary Inspector Md Zainul Abedin and Ulipur Thana Police cooperated in the operation. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Assistant Director of Consumer Rights Office, said that traders have been warned by the Consumer Rights Office. This activity will continue in public interest.
