One person died of dengue in the last 24 hours, 128 infected

News Desk: One person died in the last 24 hours due to dengue fever. Besides, 128 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. With this, 424 dengue patients are admitted in hospitals across the country.

Tuesday (August 16) in charge of Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room Dr. Md. This information was given in the dengue report signed by Zahidul Islam.

According to the report, between Monday (15 August) 8 am and the same period on Tuesday, 128 more people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue throughout the country. Among them 108 people are under treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka. 20 people are receiving treatment outside Dhaka.

Due to this, a total of 424 people are admitted in various public and private hospitals of the country due to dengue. Among them, 361 people are receiving treatment in 47 public and private hospitals of Dhaka. 63 people are admitted in different hospitals outside Dhaka.

According to the information of the Department of Health, from January 1 to August 16 this year, 3 thousand 983 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. Among them, 3 thousand 542 people have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

During this period, 3 thousand 318 people were admitted to hospital due to dengue in Dhaka and 2 thousand 950 people returned home after recovery. 665 people were admitted outside Dhaka and 592 people returned home after recovery.

Meanwhile, 17 people have died from dengue since January 1 of this year. The first death was reported on June 21 this year.

During the corona epidemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28 thousand 429 people were infected with dengue fever across the country. In the same year, 105 people died of dengue nationwide.
