Md. Noor Alam, Gopalpur (Tangail): Two people were killed when a CNG-powered autorickshaw ran into a truck parked at Ghatail in Tangail. The accident took place on Tuesday (August 16) around 4:30 am in Brahminshasan area of Tangail-Mymensingh road. Three others were seriously injured in the incident. They have been admitted to Tangail General Hospital. The deceased are Shahjahan of Kashtala village and Nepal Chandra Saha of Hamidpur Saha Para area. All of them were returning from Ghatail's Andipur after receiving a wedding invitation. SI Monirul Islam of Ghatail police station said that the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw that left Ghatail's Andipur on Tuesday morning was heading towards Tangail. On the way, the auto-rickshaw hit a standing truck when it reached Brakshanasan area. Monirul Islam also said that Shah Jahan and Nepal died on the spot. Three people were injured. The injured were rescued and admitted to Tangail General Hospital. The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to the families after legal proceedings.
