Death anniversary of Tarek Masud and journalist Mishuk Monir celebrated in Manikganj

Shahjahan Biswas, Manikganj: On August 13, the death anniversary of renowned filmmaker Tarek Masood and journalist Mishuk Monir, who died in a road accident in Manikganj, was celebrated. On this occasion, various organizations including Manikganj Press Club, Tarek Masud-Mishuk Munir Smriti Parishad, Dhaka-Manikganj-Paturia Rail Line Bastabyan Andolan Committee and Barsik jointly organized various programs at Joka area of ​​Dhaka-Aricha highway on Saturday morning. On the occasion of the day, Tarek Masood-Mishuk Muni's memorial plaque was paid tribute with flowers. Earlier, a human chain program was held at the accident site of Dhaka-Aricha highway for various demands including safe road. Manikganj Press Club President Golam Charwar Chanu, Manikganj Branch President of Khatak Nimul Committee Advocate Deepak Kumar Ghosh and leaders of various organizations spoke at the human chain. Meanwhile, the speakers demanded construction of a monument in memory of the deceased Tarek Masud-Mishuk Munir at the accident site and railway line on Dhaka-Manikganj-Paturia road. After the human chain, a commemorative meeting was held in Baniajuri area in memory of Tarek Masud-Mishuk Muni. Besides, saplings are planted in various school premises. It is to be noted that on the morning of August 13, 2011, a group of 9 people, including famous film maker Tarek Masud, his wife Catherine Masud, prominent journalist Mishuk Munir, were returning to Dhaka from Shaljana village of Manikganj's Shibaloy Upazila after seeing the shooting spot of the movie Paper Full. On the way, when the microbus they were carrying reached the Joka area of ​​Ghior Upazila on the Dhaka-Aricha highway, there was a collision with the Chuadanga deluxe bus going in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, the Micros bus got twisted. Tarek Masud and Mishuk Munir along with production assistants Wasim, Jamal and microbus driver Mustafizur Rahman were killed. 5 people were killed in the accident. Tarek Masud's wife Catherine Masud, Chittagong University teacher artist Dhali Al Mamun and his wife Delwara Begum Joli were injured in the accident.
