IGP orders flawless security on mourning day

News Desk: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Benazir Ahmed ordered to ensure flawless security on National Mourning Day. He also ordered to pay attention to the fact that no one can create any kind of chaos. He gave this order to the heads of all police units while presiding over a virtual meeting held at the police quarters on Thursday (August 11) afternoon. All Metropolitan, Range and District Superintendents of Police were involved in the meeting. The IGP said, "The movement of His Excellency the President, Prime Minister, other important dignitaries and diplomats during the National Mourning Day ceremony and the venue should be provided with maximum security." The IGP also directed the police officials to ensure that no one creates chaos and spreads any rumors on social media during the Mourning Day celebrations. The police officer further said, "Adequate precautions and security measures should be taken based on intelligence activities about members of militant and proscribed organizations and other terrorists." He also ordered police patrols to be strengthened during the Mourning Day program and police officers to increase their presence and vigilance in their respective jurisdictions, adding, "necessary coordination with the local administration, public representatives and organizers should be done." And he ordered the Bit Police officers to be present during the distribution of food at the mass. Additional IG (Administration) at the meeting. Md. Mainur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional IG (Crime and Operations) M Khurshid Hossain, DIG (Operations) Md. Hyder Ali Khan and concerned police officers were present. Apart from this, all Metropolitan, Range and District Superintendents of Police were involved in the meeting.
