Mamunar Rashid Mithu, Nilphamari: The National Directorate of Consumer Rights has fined 45,000 rupees on two filling stations for allegedly rigging oil measurement in Nilphamari. Shamsul Alam, Assistant Director of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, Nilphamari, conducted a raid at Messrs. Raja Filling Station and Messrs. Bhai Bhai Filling Station in the district headquarters on Monday (08 August). It is known from the National Consumer Rights Center that during the market surveillance campaign, the issue of giving less oil by weight was found at Messrs. Bhai Bhai Filling Station and Raja Filling Station. According to Section 45 of Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009, a fine of Tk 25 thousand was imposed on Bhai Bhai Filling Station and Tk 20 thousand on M/s Raja Filling Station. Shamsul Alam, Assistant Director of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, Nilphamari, told Dhaka Mail that a fine of Tk 45,000 was collected as per the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 due to rigging of oil measurements. And through this campaign other filling stations are warned. He also said that such operations will continue in the future and Nilphamari Thana Police cooperates during the operations.
