15 gamblers arrested including president of Upazila Jubo League in Pabna

Tofazzal Hossain, Pabna: Police arrested 15 gamblers including Upazila Jubo League president Azizul Ghaffer from a gambling party in Atgharia, Pabna. They were arrested from the Debottar Bazar Jubo League office on Wednesday night (July 27). The arrested are Azizul Ghaffar (47), son of deceased Abdur Rahman of Borulia village, President of Upazila Jubo League, Salim Hossain (38), son of deceased Mazir Uddin, Liton Hossain (35), son of Rostam Pramanik, Sajal Hossain (28), son of Abul Hashem of Kandappur village, deceased Ukil Ali (40) son of Khalek, Sagar Pramanik (20) son of Palash Pramanik, Mizan Ali (27) son of Abdus Samad of Debottar village, Abu Saeed (37) son of deceased Yachin Ali, Babul Akhtar (40) son of Harunor Rashid Mandal of Nagdah village, Rafiq Uddin (40), son of deceased Dhalu Sekh, Farak Hossain (34), son of Ansar Ali of Chak Dhaleshwar village, Abdul Malek (30), son of deceased Shukur Ali, Abdul Halim (52), son of deceased Zakir Hossain of Vashanpur village, deceased Abul of Ramchandrapur village of Sadar Upazila. Hossain's son Hira Hossain (35) and Raja Hossain (35), son of deceased laborer Ali of Shahapur Jashadal village. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Atgharia police station Abdur Razzak said that on the basis of secret information, 15 gamblers including Upazila Jubo League president Azizul Ghaffar were arrested for gambling while raiding the Upazila Jubo League office in Debottar Bazar. 34 thousand 700 taka in cash and gambling materials were recovered from the arrested. The OC said that a case has been filed in the Atgharia police station. The arrested have been sent to jail through the court on Thursday afternoon.
