Afghanistan expressed gratitude for the assistance

International Desk: Bangladesh has sent emergency humanitarian aid to Afghanistan affected by the earthquake. Afghanistan expressed gratitude for the assistance.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed this information in a press release on Tuesday. Earlier, Bangladeshi aid reached Afghanistan.

Thousands of citizens were killed by a strong earthquake in the eastern part of Afghanistan on June 22. Apart from this, more than two thousand people were seriously injured. Hundreds of houses were completely destroyed. As a result of the earthquake, food and water shortages, housing shortages and lack of emergency medical services have resulted in an overall humanitarian disaster.

The relief materials sent to the common people of Afghanistan to deal with this sudden disaster have been collected as donations from the Armed Forces Department of Bangladesh, the state-owned company Essential Drugs Company Limited, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), PRAN-RFL Group, Akiz Food and Beverage Limited.

These relief items have been sent with the active participation and cooperation of the armed forces under the overall supervision of the Ministry of External Affairs. Bangladesh Air Force's special aircraft 'C-130J' brings relief supplies to Afghanistan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh's relationship with Afghanistan is historic. During the Great War of Liberation in 1971, the then Afghan government and general public provided special assistance for the safe passage of Bangladeshis trapped in Pakistan. To deal with the crisis caused by the recent political change in Afghanistan

One crore rupees has already been sent to the United Nations agency U OCHA fund from the relevant budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help the general people of Afghanistan. This initiative was taken on the basis of this historical link of relations and the Prime Minister's policy of integrated development.
