The Japa leader tore the journalist's head off

Mamunar Rashid, Nilphamari: A Jatiya Party leader named Dulal Hossain has been accused of punching a journalist's head for photographing the fight at Jaldhaka in Nilphamari. The incident took place at the Upazila Jatiya Party office on Thursday (July 14) afternoon. Eyewitnesses said that Dulal Hossain, who was defeated in the election for the post of general secretary, attacked the newly elected general secretary of Upazila Jatiya Party, Saidar Rahman Bulu, during the celebration of the death anniversary of former president Hussain Mohammad Ershad. Meanwhile, Rasheduzzaman Sumon, the Jaldhaka upazila correspondent of daily Manabkanth newspaper published from Dhaka, went to take a picture, when the accused Dulal Hossain punched him on the head. Suman fell seriously ill on the spot after his head burst. Leaders, activists and other journalists rescued him and took him to Jaldhaka Upazila Health Complex. Later he was shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Journalist Rasheduzzaman Sumon, who admitted to the attack, said that the fight started at the event. Dulal Hussain attacked me when I went to take pictures. He hit his head hard and cracked his head. Jaldhaka Municipal Jatiya Party General Secretary Shariful Islam Prince, who was present at the scene, said that a conference of Jaldhaka Upazila and Municipal Committee was held recently. In that conference, the accused Dulal Hossain was defeated for the post of General Secretary in the Upazila Committee. Dulal Hossain attacked Saidar Rahman and injured him. He also attacked journalist Sumon when he was going to take pictures. After contacting the accused Dulal Hossain several times on the phone, he was not found. District Jatiya Party member secretary Sajjad Parvez said about the attack and fight on the journalist, we are ashamed of such an unwanted incident in the event. The attack on the journalist is not acceptable in any way. It will be discussed as a party. Firoz Kabir, officer-in-charge of Jaldhaka police station, said, I have heard about the incident. However, no complaint has been lodged with the police yet. Necessary action will be taken in case of complaint.
