'The economy is on a strong footing today'

He made the remarks while addressing a function titled 'Sustainability Vision-2030' organized by BGMEA at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday (July 5). Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said, “A modern and sustainable vision is needed for a developed and prosperous Bangladesh. BGMEA will play an important role in building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh by embracing timely change. ” He also unveiled the new logo of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said, “Bangladesh is ranked 2nd in the world in the RMG sector due to the successful path of BGMEA for 40 years. Such achievements make the country proud during the golden jubilee of independence, the birth centenary of the father of the nation. ” He further said that in the just-concluded 2021-22 financial year, a record export income has been created by exporting goods worth more than বিল 52 billion, adding that the revenue of দশ 42.61 billion from garment exports is the result of this continuous improvement.
