News Desk: Gas pressure is low in different parts of the capital due to reduced supply. Customers have been complaining to Titas Gas Distribution Company for two days. Meanwhile, power generation has also declined due to lack of gas. Most of the gas-fired power plants have to be shut down. As a result, the level of load shedding has also increased across the country. According to Titas sources, customers are not getting gas at all in Bashundhara residential area, Baridhara, Badda and Keraniganj areas of the capital. Meanwhile, gas pressure has decreased in several areas including Kanthalbagan, Mohammadpur, Mirpur and Jatrabari. Somehow cooking stoves are burning in these areas. Industries in Savar, Manikganj and Narayanganj areas are also unable to produce due to lack of gas. Bangladesh Oil-Gas, Mineral Resources Corporation Petrobangla sources say the daily demand for gas is 360 crore cubic feet. It is usually supplied on an average of 300 crore cubic feet. It is being supplied for two days at a rate of 265 to 260 crore cubic feet per day. Meanwhile, the price of fuel oil is also high. Oil-fired power plants are also not going to be fully operational. Being forced to pay load shedding. The daily demand of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) is 1,700 MW and the supply is 1,300 MW. Another distribution company in the capital, DESCO, has reduced its supply by 150 MW a day. The daily demand of this company is 1 thousand megawatts, getting 750 megawatts. So there is load shedding four to five times a day in the capital. Load shedding is much higher outside the capital. The Rural Electrification Board (REB) is the largest power distribution company in the country. They distribute electricity in rural areas. REB officials said they supply about 55 percent of the country's electricity. Load shedding is happening all over the country. The highest load shedding is in the districts of Mymensingh division. Load shedding has also increased in Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Rajshahi, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Noakhali, Feni, Chandpur, Sylhet, Habiganj and Bogra. Customers are not getting electricity for five to six hours a day. Meanwhile, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid posted on Facebook at 11:58 pm on Sunday (July 3) expressing regret over the sudden increase in load shedding. He wrote in a Facebook post, “Power generation is being disrupted due to gas shortage. This is disrupting power supply in many places. If gas supply is normal, power generation will be normal again. ” "As a result of the war, high fuel prices and supply in the international market have caused us problems like all other countries," he wrote. I sincerely apologize for your temporary inconvenience in this situation. ”
