News Desk: Information Minister and Awami League joint general secretary said that BNP does not make movement on people's issues. Hasan Mahmud.

He said, “Movement after Eid, after winter, after exams, after rains. We have been hearing these for the last 13 years. Now, whether it is after this Eid or after any Eid, it has to be tested first. In fact, by saying all these things, they are constantly making fun of themselves and that is why the people have never responded to their movement. ”

He made the remarks when reporters at the Information and Broadcasting Ministry's meeting room at the Secretariat on Sunday (July 3rd) at noon questioned whether the BNP would launch a full-fledged movement after Eid.

The Information Minister said, “People are upset with the BNP for various reasons. Because they don't talk about people's issues. They talk about Khaleda Zia's health and Tariq Zia's punishment. They throw petrol bombs at the people. ”

Earlier, Hasan Mahmud held a discussion meeting with the Bangladesh Editors Forum.

Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, advisor of the forum, said, "We have to work in the spirit of the liberation war while maintaining the ethics of journalism."

Rafiqul Islam Ratan, convener of the forum, said, "According to the Printing Presses and Publications Act, there is no scope for broadcasting talk shows or news bulletins in online or online news portals."

The leaders of the forum stopped giving government advertisements and supplements in nameless and irregular newspapers and canceled media listings, paid arrears of advertisement bills, adjusted the number of advertisements in newspapers, did not give the responsibility of newspaper editor to amateur journalists, gave VIP status to members of editor forum and various committees. He handed over to the Minister a letter containing 10 demands including delegating the power of declaration of the newspaper to the Ministry of Information.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting said, “Thank you for agreeing with ATCO, the owners of television channels, on the issue of broadcasting talk shows and news bulletins as per law, which is not the job of online or online newspapers. This will make it easier for us to talk to others and make the subject easier to present. Short video clips can go with the news online, but according to the law, news bulletins or talk shows cannot be organized. ”

Hasan Mahmud said that the Press Council has already taken initiative on other issues raised by the editorial forum. “Initiatives have been taken to create a database of journalists working in the country. If this is the case, it will be possible to understand who is on the list as a journalist and who is not. It will be difficult for everyone to identify as a journalist. ”

Dr. "I will not say that I will be able to solve all the problems, but I do not lack sincerity," he said. Many problems have already been solved with your cooperation, the rest will be solved. ”

Forum member secretary Farooq Ahmed Talukder and advisors Azizul Islam Bhuiyan, Sharif Sahabuddin, Belayet Hossain and members Dulal Ahmed Chowdhury, Mir Moniruzzaman, Mofizur Rahman Khan Babu, Rimon Mahfuz, Nazmul Alam Tawfiq, Jagdish Chandra Sarkar and others participated in the discussion.
