Confirming the matter on Sunday (July 3) morning, Superintendent of Police Prabir Kumar Roy PPM (Bar) said OC Shawkat Kabir has been released from Narail Sadar Police Station. According to police and college sources, Rahul Dev Roy, a class XI student of Mirzapur United Degree College, wrote using Nupur Sharma's picture on his Facebook ID - Pranam Neo Boss 'Nupur Sharma' Joy Sriram. After giving this post, Rahul came to the college on the morning of June 18. After that his friends asked him to delete the post but he did not delete the post. The students informed the matter to the acting principal of the college Swapan Kumar Biswas. At one stage, the acting principal, on the advice of all the teachers in the college, tried to hand over Rahul to the police. Meanwhile, the locals including the students became angry. At one stage, they set fire to three motorcycles of the teachers on the college premises. Police fired several rounds of tear gas, including batons, to control the situation. At least 10 students were injured in the incident. Meanwhile, on the afternoon of June 18, the angry students protested against the accused student for not taking any action against the accused student by wearing shoes around the neck of acting principal of the college Swapan Kumar Biswas and student Rahul Dev Roy.
