News Desk: The latest toll of Tk 3 crore 16 lakh has been collected from Padma Bridge. This is the record of toll collection after the inauguration of the bridge. On Friday (July 1), the record day, 26,398 vehicles crossed the bridge. Meanwhile, toll collection on Father Sheikh of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Highway has started from Friday at both ends of the Padma Bridge. A total of 41,814 vehicles crossed. 26,084 vehicles have crossed the toll plaza near Dhaleshwari Bridge. Toll has been collected 45 lakh 6 thousand 240 rupees. And 15 thousand 750 vehicles have crossed with broken. Toll has been collected 24 lakh 4 thousand 640 rupees. 13,701 vehicles have crossed the Mawa end of the Padma Bridge. Toll has been collected 1 crore 85 lakh 42 thousand 100 rupees. 12 thousand 596 vehicles have crossed through Jazira. Toll has been collected 1 crore 51 lakh 11 thousand 100 rupees. Earlier, after the launch on June 26, more than 61,000 vehicles were moving in one day. The toll was collected around three and a quarter crore rupees. However, 75 percent of the vehicles that passed that day were motorcycles. Motorcycle crossings across the bridge were closed from June 26. Then the vehicles and tolls are reduced. Vehicles increased again on the last day of the first week on Friday. According to the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BASEC), 51,317 vehicles ply on the Padma Bridge on the first day (June 26). 2 crore 9 lakh 40 thousand 300 rupees has been collected from these vehicles. Traffic was light on the opening day. Toll collection on the second day of traffic was 2 crore 75 lakh 13 thousand 600 rupees.
