AC Rabiul's wife broke down in tears as soon as she spoke to her husband

Shahjahan Biswas, Manikganj: Rabiul Karim, Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police of Banani Police Station, was killed in a militant attack at Holy Artisan Bakery in Gulshan, the wife of AC Rabiul. Today marks the sixth anniversary of that barbaric attack. The people of Manikganj have not forgotten this clever police officer even after half a century of his death. That is why the people of the district remember AC Rabiul in various events as soon as the day comes. A procession was taken out in front of Kattigram Club in Sadar Upazila around 10:30 am on Friday (July 1). After laying a wreath at Rabiul's grave, a discussion meeting was organized at the Blooms School ground for the disabled. Rabiul's wife Umme Salma, his two sons and daughters, family members and villagers were present. Rabiul's wife broke down in tears while reminiscing about her husband. "I am still alive with the memory of my husband and the two children he left behind," she said. I am trying to build their ideal people like my father, so that people like my father can stand by me in danger. BPATC Director Joint Secretary Abdul Alim, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police Hafizur Rahman, Rabiul's wife Umme Salma, Rabiul's children, family members and villagers were present on the occasion. On the night of July 1, 2016, a barbaric attack took place in the history of the country. On that day, the militants entered the Holy Artisan, an elite restaurant in Gulshan, and took everyone hostage. Manikganj Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Rabiul Islam rushed to the spot after receiving the news. He was later shot dead by militants. Before her death, she left her 5-year-old son and wife in her womb. Her two children are now in school.
