Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: Cattle trader Sharif Sheikh (35) was killed after he was called for gambling as he did not pay his dues. Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police Jamal Pasha told a press briefing in the hall of Faridpur Superintendent of Police at noon on Wednesday (June 29) that Sharif Bakaul, 26, involved in the murder, was arrested from Rahimpur Madhyapara on Tuesday night on a tip-off led by Kotwali Police Station SI Selim Mollah. Police have recovered the sole accused in the murder and a photo used. Additional Superintendent of Police Jamal Pasha told a news conference that Sharif Bakaul had a friendly relationship with Sharif Sheikh. Their relationship was extremely deep. They spent most of the day together and both had a habit of gambling. He borrowed about 1 lakh 79 thousand five hundred rupees from Sharif Sheikh at different times. His friend planned to kill Sharif if they quarreled over not paying the money. But before the murder, he did not understand anything and walked together as friends as before. He said at the press conference that Sharif Bakaul called Sharif Sheikh from a tea shop around 10 pm on June 25 and took him away. He was then stabbed to death from behind. Sharif's head was cut into three pieces due to a sharp charge. A murder case has been filed at Kotwali police station in this regard. Additional Superintendent of Police Sumon Ranjan Sarkar and others were present during the press conference.
