Nur Alam, Gopalpur (Tangail): Human chain and demonstrations have been held in Gopalpur, Tangail demanding reinstatement of people's right to vote by re-announcing the schedule of Jhawil Union Parishad (UP) elections which was postponed due to complications related to the case. Local voters including ward members of the union and candidates for the reserved seats took part in the program at the Union Parishad premises on Sunday noon. Member candidates Azizur Rahman Dolan, Shamsul Islam, Abdul Majid, Masud Rana Babla and others spoke on the occasion. Speakers said that an insidious quarter has stopped the election with false, fabricated and baseless lawsuits. They withdrew the case and re-announced the schedule, demanding elections. It may be mentioned that on June 15, one day before the ninth phase of the election, the Election Commission postponed the election of the Union Parishad due to a border issue.
