Farmer dies of electrocution in Chapainawabganj

Faruk Hossain, Chapainawabganj: A farmer named Ashraful Islam (40) died after being electrocuted in Nachole of Chapainawabganj. He is the son of late Shamsuddin of Amjoyan village in Nachole upazila of Chapainawabganj district. The incident took place on Sunday (June 26) morning at Amjoyan Guchhgram in Nachol Union. According to the victim's family and police sources, Ashraful Islam fell in the paddy field while going home for breakfast while working in the paddy field in Amchoan Guchhgram in Nachole. According to the locals, the electric wire was shorted in the field. Nachol Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mintu Rahman said the body was recovered by locals and taken to the Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty at the hospital declared Ashraful dead. The body was later handed over to the family after the legal process, the OC said.
